In both cases carbohydrates are eliminated for a period of time and a person retrains their system to process carbs in a healthier manner. Sugar and carb addictions are broken, and both plans often results in speedy weight loss at the beginning of the diet, a motivating result. These diets are challenging to maintain because there are temptations all around. The first phase requires you to trigger occurences in your body so you must adhere to it very closely to keep things working. If you make a mistake, that phase must be repeated.
